Thomas G. McLaughlin, 78 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
He was born February 24, 1939 in Lisbon, Ohio, the son of Herbert and Minnie (Warrington) McLaughlin. He grew up in Lisbon, then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a military police officer. He then moved to Chicago and became a sheet metal worker for Local 73. He was united in marriage to Susan M. Sejut on November 6, 1987. The couple made their home in Villa Park and later Huntley. Thomas enjoyed western movies, dancing and he loved watching his son, Jon, coach high school football.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of Huntley, his children, Jon (Julie) McLaughlin, Wendy (Michael) Smith, Robert (Rebeccah) Nelson and Scott (Megan) McLaughlin, his grandchildren, Cody, Alec, Tiffany (Dan), Ryan, Cheyenne, Ray, Dylan, Tyler and Emma, his sister-in-law’s, Pat and Rose McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Eugene, William and Bud and two sisters, Harriet and Mary.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with 4:00 p.m. prayers on Saturday, February 24th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
