Obituary

Lora “Penny” G. Carpenter, 74, of Algonquin passed away on Wednesday evening, February 28, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 16, 1943 in Melrose Park, the daughter of Hilbert F. and Barbara J. (Negele) Fett. She grew up in Berkeley, Illinois and graduated from Proviso West High School in Hillside. She attended Elmhurst College. On July 26, 1965 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” J. Carpenter. The couple made their home in Addison where they raised their family. Penny worked for United Airlines for over 35 years, retiring in 2002. She especially enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping and time with her family.

Penny is survived by her sons, Steven (Cheryl) Carpenter of Algonquin, David (Maureen) Carpenter of Villa Park, her grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Kathleen, Kelly, Bradley and Sean, her sisters, Joanne (Jerrold) Wagner of Geneva and Dolores Seville of Wheaton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill”, her brother, Herbert Fett and her sisters, Grace Wojtowicz and Barbara Connolly.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. time of sharing on Saturday, March 3rd at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
