Frederick T. Galicki, 70 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 8, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
He was born February 10, 1948 in Germany, the son of Frank Galicki and Helena Kosno. He moved with his family at an early age to the United States and the family settled in Chicago where he was raised and educated, graduating from Lane Tech. He lived in Oak Park and worked for many years in the printing business. He was united in marriage to Arlene I. Malec on October 5, 1995 in Las Vegas. The couple made their home in Chicago until moving to Huntley in 2005. Fred was an avid White Sox fan, enjoyed playing softball and golf and especially enjoyed his cat, Edmond.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Huntley, his mother, Helena Siuzdak of Chicago, his sister, Krystyna (Gregg) Gallagher of Chicago, his sister-in-law's, Rita Zawistowski and Shirley Malec both of Chicago and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, his step-father, John Siuzdak, his brother-in-law’s, Edmond and Eugene Malec and his sister-in-law’s, Loretta Ciura and Joan Malec.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. with 7:00 Prayers on Monday, May 14th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
