Charles Alex Tuzik of Huntley, IL was called home to be with the Lord on Friday,
May 4th, 2018. After two decades of a long battle with inclusion body myositis, he
passed away in his sleep due to complications from his disease with his beloved wife and devoted caregiver, Rebecca Tuzik, and his daughter, Emily Tuzik, by his side. Charlie was born May 23, 1948, in Chicago, IL to Chester Tuzik and Catherine Tuzik Waldoch. He was the youngest of three boys, and was preceded in death by his parents, and his middle brother, Gregory “Jim” Tuzik. He is survived by his eldest brother, William “Bill” Tuzik, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, a nephew, great nieces and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Before his illness, Charlie was a talented athlete who played softball for a large company in Chicago when he was 16 in a Chicago’s men’s league. He loved to run and he completed three marathons. He was a great businessman and entrepreneur. He was valued by those he did business with for his honesty, vision, and generosity. He will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him for his wit and humor, his wisdom, his unshakable faith in the Lord, and most of all, his integrity.
Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church.
