Robert E. Dean, 77 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away at JourneyCare Hospice in Woodstock with his family at his side on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
He was born October 28, 1940 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, the son of Theodore and Grace (Montgomery) Dean. He was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and later lived in New York and Florida. He moved to Illinois in the mid 1970’s. On August 26, 1989 he was united in marriage to Cynthia C. Ribarits. The couple made their home in Schaumburg and Robert worked as a heating and cooling specialist for Friendship Village. In 2007, they moved to Sun City, Huntley. He enjoyed time with his faithful companion, his dog, Sammie.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Huntley, his step-children, Christine O’Dell of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Eric Ribarits of Algonquin and Julia (Harold) Buchholz of Huntley, his grandchildren, Nevan, Kaden, Skylar, Rylan, Greyson, Rocco and Eva, the loves of his life. Also, his sister, Sandy (Barry) Gaston of Atlanta, Georgia and his two nephews, Robert and Barry Gaston. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 29th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JourneyCare Foundation.
