August “Gus” Noce, 100 of Marengo, died, peacefully, May 25, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church-312 Lincoln Ave. Woodstock. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Woodstock. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Church- We Love Our Priest Fund or Journeycare Foundation
August was born August 28, 1917 in Frostberg, Maryland, the son of Anthony and Judith Noce. He was the son of a coalminer and at the age of three he and his family returned to Italy. He served proudly in the United States Army. In 1946 he married Mary Caruso. Gus worked as a cabinet maker. He enjoyed spending time at the Marengo American Legion as well as the McHenry VFW. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He was a hard working, devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Anthony (Susan) Noce, grandchildren, Julie (Marc) Granena, Anthony August (Vanessa) Noce, and by his great grandchildren, Anthony, Nina and Marcky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his brothers, Joseph, Hugo and sisters, Vienna, Emily and Gilda.
