Obituary

Jack Vitone, 83 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

He was born February 16, 1934 in Capurso, Italy, the son of Nicholas and Angela (DiFronzo) Vitone. He moved to the United States in 1953 and settled in Chicago, working as a tailor. In the late 1950’s he began his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance and became a highly respected insurance agent. He was united in marriage to Anna Lonigro on October 26, 1963. The couple made their home in Chicago and in 1974 moved to Arlington Heights. In 2000, Jack retired and they moved to Del Webb Sun City. Jack was a member of the Italian Club, the St. Vincent DePaul and Madonna Del Pozzo Society. He enjoyed bocce ball, gardening, fishing with his grandchildren and loved cheering from the bleachers at all of their sporting events.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Angela (Joseph) LoPresti, Patti (Jim) Russow, both of Lake In The Hills, Lisa (Brian) Helbig of West Dundee and Joanne (Tim) Schuring of Lakewood, the children’s mother, Anna Vitone of Algonquin, his grandchildren, Christina, Marissa, Alyssa, Breanna, Carly, Lauren, Grant, Parker, Brandon, Blake & Preston, his sisters, Gina (Vito) LaGioia of Itasca and Anna (Donato) Carbonara of Harwood Heights, his brothers, Guy (Dorothy) Vitone of Jupiter, Florida and Vito Vitone of Providence, Rhode Island. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 10th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road,Huntley. Entombment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery,Palatine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lymphoma Research Foundation.
