Daniel Zamora, 69 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Centegra Hospital in Huntley.
He was born July 6, 1948 in Marion, Wisconsin the son of David and Florinda (Ruiz) Zamora. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge he returned to Chicago and became a mail handler for the United States Postal Service and retired after 34 years of service. He was united in marriage to JoAnne C. Kruty on August 2, 2004. The couple had made their home in Chicago, later Elgin and finally Huntley. Dan was a sports fan and enjoyed traveling and road trips.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne of Huntley, daughters, Jody (Matthew) Meyer of Crystal Lake and Jamie Logan of Huntley, his grandchildren, Mya, Julia, Sarah, Laura, Nevaeh & Journey, his sisters, Elizabeth Torres, Sylvia Maltos, Yadira Lozano & Veronica Burgos, his brothers, Eduaro Renteria, David Zamora Jr., Eluith Zamora & Saul Zamora, his mother-in-law, Nancy Kruty and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brian and his sister, Leticia Zamora.
