Audrey C. Walter, 81 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Centegra Hospital in McHenry.
She was born December 25, 1935 in Crete, Illinois, the daughter of Martin and Selma (Meier) Biesterfeld. She was raised and educated in Crete, graduating from Crete High School. She moved to Chicago and worked for the C & I Railroad for a time. On October 27, 1956, she was united in marriage to Joseph F. Walter. The couple made their home in Chicago, where they raised their family. In 2000, they moved to Huntley. Audrey was very talented at golf, bowling, gardening and she loved to cook.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph “Bud” Walter of Huntley, her daughter, Pam (Keith) Nelson of Mundelein, her grandchildren, Lauren (Cory) Williams and Eric Nelson, her brothers, Howard (Ula) Biesterfeld of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Roland (the late Billie) Biesterfeld and Ken (Margie) Biesterfeld both of Crete, her sister, Gerry (Alan) Erickson of Las Vegas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Beyer.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25th and the family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 18N377 Galligan Road, Gilberts.
