Joseph “Joe” E. Grish, 58 of Elgin, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 17, 1959 in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Cecilia A. (Parkinson) Grish, Sr. He grew up in Chicago and lived there until 1980 when he moved to Des Plaines. He owned and operated Conrad & Sons Supply for many years. In 1989 he moved to Elgin. He loved his grandchildren and his family, enjoyed fishing and his annual trips to Canada. He was known as an accomplished handyman and could fix anything. He also had a very sarcastic sense of humor.
Joe is survived by his children, Robin (Joachim) Haberkost of Huntley, Johnathan Grish of Elgin, Michelle (Donald) Grish-Gibson of Indianapolis and Loryn (Quintin) Taylor of Tampa, Florida, his grandchildren, Jon, Madison, Ty, Olivia and Jaxson, his brothers, Raymond Grish, Jr., James (Elizabeth) Grish, Fredrick Grish, Robert (Lori) Grish and Timothy Grish, his sister, Theresa Heneghan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth. A special thank you to his loyal employees, Gail and Joey.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. and the family will greet friends an hour prior at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 115 N. Spring Street, Elgin. I'm so sorry for you family's loss.I met your dad only twice but his personality was so endearing, i loved his sense of humor whenever you talked about him it brought a smile to me as it did for you. Peace has come for him, may it soon come and fill your heart .
