Noel Wesley Hansmann, 73 of Cary, formerly of Huntley, died peacefully, November 20, 2017 at his home.
Noel was born August 18, 1944 in Chicago, the son of Martin and Vivian Hansmann. He graduated from Marengo High School in 1962 and during that time he lived with his Harold and Margaret Rudsinski. He served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1970. On December 2, 1967 he married the love of his life, Lillian Bundgard. Early in his career he worked for Magnetic Tape Co. D.,Hill Nursery, and then owned and operated Hansmann Landscaping and Hansmann Realty. Noel was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cary, the Huntley Chamber of Commerce, the Huntley Historical Society as well as CAAT’S car club. Noel enjoyed life, especially the outdoors. He enjoyed farm auctions, collecting agriculture signs and antiquing. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. Noel and Lil in retirement enjoyed traveling to wineries, antiquing and especially enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Noel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lil, his children, Leanne (John) Young, and Andy Hansmann (Karla), his 7 grandchildren, Angela (Shawn), Jonathon, Brittney, (Kyle), Deanne, Kari, Justin, and Jada and by his 4 great grandchildren, Andrew, Maddison, Kyleigh and Bryar. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Mac Bundgard, brothers-in-law, Gerald “Butch”(Mary) and Greg Bundgard. Noel is also survived by, Margaret Rudsinski, extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Martin, mother-in-law, Inez and sister-in-law’s, Julie Kiel and Sue Bundgard.
Services will be held in the Summer of 2018. In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cary, Melanoma Research Foundation /www.melanoma.org or Charity of your choice.
