Jean F. LaVelle, 84 of Huntley, died unexpectedly in Galena.
Visitation will be on Monday from 9-10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00am. Inurnment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to ALS or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
Jean was born October 17, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Maxine Christoff. In 1954, she married Michael LaVelle. Jean was a registered nurse for 30 years. In 2000, she and her husband moved to Sun City. She was a member of the Prairie Singers, a member of St. Mary Church. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Kim) LaVelle, Keith LaVelle and Maria (John) Knuth, by her grandchildren, Megan, Kevin, Mikayla, and Melanie and great grandchildren, Sydney and Patrick. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy (Larry) Ossler, Cecilia Buehler and her brother, Thomas Christoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael, her son, James LaVelle and brother, Owen Christoff.

Maria, I was so sad to hear if your moms passing. I feel very blessed that I just got to spend time with her the week before. She was such a sweet lady. I loved chatting with her.
